Here you can find answers to FAQs about adventure trips and chartered trains.
Adventure trips.
Adventure trips are journeys for individual travellers or for groups which can be booked individually – in historic or specially booked trains or coaches.
For example, go on a trip on the “Churchill” Red Arrow, the modern “Salon suisse” or on the panorama coach.
From a brunch journey to a round trip with musical entertainment, all sorts of unforgettable adventure trips await you. The journeys usually start and end in Zurich and include a round trip. You can also experience our monthly Pop-up Restaurant on the “Churchill” Red Arrow at Zurich main station.
Most trips start and end at Zurich main station, but one adventure trip ends in Basel. The outward and return journey to Zurich or Basel is not included in the price.
The journeys can be booked via Ticketcorner, online at sbb.ch/en/adventure-trips or by calling the hotline. All prices exclude order/service fees and other fees.
Please note that there are always four reservable seats per table, meaning that mixed groups can end up sitting at the same table.
When booking, please provide us with your full address, telephone number and e-mail address so that we can contact you in the event of any programme change/cancellation.
Animals are not allowed on the adventure trips – with the exception of assistance dogs.
You can get vouchers from our partner, Ticketcorner.
Chartered trains.
Yes. You can rent individual coaches or even whole trains from us. From the modern “Salon suisse” – often used by the Federal Council – to the historic “Churchill” Red Arrow, various options are available . Our Charter department will be delighted to give you information about the options and prices.
Individual saloon or sitting carriages can be attached exclusively for you to a train running according to the normal timetable in Switzerland to meet your individual mobility requirements. To enable up to 1,200 guests to travel together, there is also the option of organising a special event train as a mobility solution.
With a special event train, the entire timetable for your event can be drawn up individually. This means that interim stops for boarding and alighting can be taken into account or for journeys involving luggage sufficient time for loading and unloading the train. And the special event train will also take you and your guests back home again even when there are no more normal services running.
However, it’s often not just a case of ferrying guests from one place to another but also of making use of the journey time itself. Our special carriages and trains make this possible with innovative mobility solutions. For example, in our saloon carriage “Salon suisse” you can make use of the journey time for presentations, seminars or workshops followed by a business lunch. You and your guests can also travel safely and comfortably in the sitting carriages where you can work quietly, talk, prepare a meeting or simply relax.
SBB plans and organises cross-system concepts to enable you to travel from your home to the station and back again in a fast, comfortable and environmentally friendly manner. We do this by combining modes of transport in such a way as to complement each other optimally along the entire route. We can organise all modes of transport such as train, tram, bus and ship exclusively for you and your guests.
