No. Tickets are mandatory at all times on all SBB modes of transport. This means you are responsible for holding a valid ticket before the departure of your mode of public transport scheduled on the timetable and presenting it during inspection.

If you’re unable to buy a ticket due to a general error with the (digital) sales systems, notify the train crew on staffed SBB trains (IC, EC) before getting on if possible. The passenger attendants will sell you a ticket without applying a surcharge. This also applies to random inspections on modes of transport without a train crew. We recommend purchasing via another channel if possible (e.g. SBB ticket machine/ticket counter).

• If the surcharge (RogF form) was applied by SBB staff, contact the SBB Revenue Service Centre. You’ll find the contact details on the receipt that you obtained. 
• If the receipt was issued by another transport company, then please contact them.

In this situation, buy a normal ticket in the SBB Mobile app or via SBB.ch (with a laptop or in the browser of your mobile or tablet).

As the EasyRide user, you’re responsible for ensuring the internet connection and location function remain activated for the entire journey. If your smartphone only stops working for a short time, the system on the server will continue to run in the background for a certain amount of time. If you’re unable to present a QR code, you are travelling without a valid ticket and risk having to pay a surcharge during a ticket inspection. 

If EasyRide didn’t work properly for the duration of your journey and you received a ‘travel without a valid ticket (RogF)’ form, please contact the SBB Revenue Service Centre which will examine your situation retrospectively.
