Your SwissPass login consists of your e-mail address (user name) and the password that you select at the time of initial registration. You can use it to log into your customer account on swisspass.ch. 

You can also use the SwissPass login to log into SBB.ch or the SBB Mobile app. Your personal details will then be pre-entered and you’ll save time when purchasing online and also when completing forms.

How registration works:

1. Go to swisspass.ch
2. Click on ‘Register’.
3. Select ‘SwissPass’.
4. Enter the customer number in the format 000-000-000-0. This number can be found at the bottom of the SwissPass card on the side with your photo.
5. Enter your postcode and your date of birth.
6. Proceed according to the instructions.

On SBB.ch:

Click on Sign in at the top right of the page.

In the SBB Mobile / Preview app:

Click on ‘Profile’ in the bottom right of the app and select ‘Login’.

On swisspass.ch:

Click on the Sign in button.

No, you do not need a SwissPass card to have a login. You can complete an initial registration on swisspass.ch, even while making your purchase online. On subsequent occasions, you can just sign in.

No, to buy tickets you do not need to log in / sign in. However, we recommend that you have a login. It offers you numerous benefits, as you do not need to enter your personal details and payment method every time.

If you wish to purchase a Half Fare Travelcard or a GA Travelcard online or book a group trip, you need a login. To do so, complete an initial registration.

• Your details are already stored and do not have to be entered the next time you make an online purchase.
• You can view your previous purchases and orders at any time and show or print out any tickets you bought online.
• You can save payment methods easily and set them as defaults.
• You can have tickets bought for travel in Switzerland refunded before the start of validity (except supersaver tickets, Saver Day Passes and special offers).
• If the connection breaks down during the purchase you can check under Orders whether a ticket was actually purchased on not.
• You can also use your login for the SBB Mobile app and buy tickets there too.

• Your details are already stored and do not have to be entered the next time you make an online purchase.
• You can save payment methods easily and set them as defaults.
• You can see the travelcards you hold on your SwissPass.
• You can also use your login for SBB.ch to buy tickets there and you can view your previous purchases and orders at any time. You can also display any tickets bought online or by mobile again or print them out.

Your customer number is the number with the format 000-000-000-0 on your SwissPass card. This number can be found at the bottom of the SwissPass card on the side with your photo.

Sign in with your login on swisspass.ch. On the homepage, you will be asked to enter your customer number, postal code and your date of birth. Then click on Link now. Your customer number is the number with the format 000-000-000-0 on your SwissPass card.

Please check your name, address and telephone number etc. as stored in your customer account on swisspass.ch. These details must be identical to those on your SwissPass card (e.g. no nicknames, check double names etc.). If you continue to receive the error message, please contact us via the chat or by telephone (links at the bottom of the page).

To delete your SwissPass account, proceed as follows:

If you have forgotten your password, you can ask for a new one using your e-mail address. After logging in, proceed as described above.

One reason why your SwissPass account could be blocked is that too many failed login attempts have been identified. Request a new password to unblock the account or contact the SBB Contact Center via the chat or by telephone on 0848 44 66 88 (0.08/min.).

Your customer account on swisspass.ch is the basis for a public transport travelcard such as the Half Fare Travelcard or GA Travelcard.

If you buy tickets on SBB.ch or in the SBB Mobile / SBB Preview app, you have the option of logging in with the same access details as for swisspass.ch. This means you have only one login for your public transport services. On SBB.ch, this account is called ‘Profile’.

Since you can also buy travelcards (and tickets) for other people, we distinguish between the contracting party and the person travelling.

In the SwissPass customer account, you will only be able to find an invoice for your travelcard if you are also the contracting party. For example, if you purchased a GA Travelcard for your son, you will be the contracting party and your son will be the passenger. As the passenger, your son will not be able to find any invoice information regarding the GA Travelcard in his SwissPass customer account. However, you will see this information as you are the contracting party.

You can find the following information in your SwissPass customer account.

In most cases, the contracting party and the person travelling are the same person because you buy a travelcard (or a ticket) for yourself. However, if you purchase a travelcard (or a ticket) for another person (e.g. a child, your grandfather or anyone else), you are then the contracting party and the other person is the person travelling.

This has an impact on what contracting partners and persons travelling see in their respective SwissPass customer accounts.

As soon as you have saved a verified mobile phone number in your customer account, the two-step login (2-FA) is automatically activated for particularly sensitive functions. This ensures your data is optimally protected against misuse. 

In the settings, press the button ‘Sign out from all devices’ and your SwissPass account will be signed out from all signed-in devices. If you sign out from all devices, you must sign in again for all online services and apps that work with your SwissPass login. Your SwissPass Mobile will also be deactivated. You will have to reactivate the ‘Stay signed in’ function if you want to use it.

If you suspect that unauthorised persons have gained access to your account, we recommend that you change your password immediately. If you use the same password for your e-mail account or other services as you do for your SwissPass login, you should also change these passwords.

First, enter a verified mobile number in your customer profile. This activates the two-step login (2-FA) for particularly sensitive functions (e.g. logging in from a new device), which protects your data against misuse.

We also recommend password-free login methods, for example, using a passkey or login code. Passkeys offer a number of advantages over traditional passwords.

Your personal security level indicates how well your account is protected. Level 4 represents the highest possible level of protection. If you have not yet reached this level, we will guide you step by step with recommendations.

No. An e-mail address can only be used once for data security reasons. We therefore ask you to use a different e-mail address if you wish to register another person.

Umlauts and special characters cannot be used in e-mail addresses.

That may be because a login has already been created for this e-mail address.

If you no longer know if you already have a SwissPass account with this e-mail address, you can request a new password with your e-mail address on swisspass.ch.

If you would like to make an initial registration for another person on swisspass.chLink opens in new window., you need to use another e-mail address.

How to proceed: You must first renew your forgotten password for the previous e-mail address. Only once you have done this can you enter a new e-mail address for your login. You can also enter a recovery e-mail address. You need this to recover your SwissPass customer account yourself if necessary.

If you still have access to your previous e-mail account:

• Log in with your old e-mail address and your new password.

If you cannot access your previous e-mail account:

If you no longer have access to your old e-mail account, please visit a public transport point of sale with your SwissPass or an official form of identification.

Please note that if you change your password, you will have to sign in again for all the online services and apps that work using the SwissPass login. You will have to reactivate the ‘Stay signed in’ function if you want to use it.

You need the recovery e-mail address to recover your SwissPass customer account yourself if necessary. This is required, for example, if you have activated the login code as your login method but are unable to access this e-mail inbox.

In this case, you would also not be able to access the login code that you need for the SwissPass login. In this situation, as an alternative, you can receive the code at your recovery e-mail address so that you can still access your SwissPass customer account (select ‘Continue with recovery e-mail’ on the login screen). For this reason, the recovery e-mail address must be different from the login e-mail address.

No, you can stay logged into the app. 

You can use the SBB Mobile app to show almost all tickets bought online. The inverse is also possible: you can also show and print tickets bought on SBB Mobile on SBB.ch. The only requirement is that tickets were bought using the same SwissPass login.

Some data cannot be encrypted securely on older Android devices. Therefore, we do send not these smartphones sensitive data to store. This affects smartphones running Android 4.x.

If you are using older devices, you will need to sign in with your user name and password whenever you buy tickets.

We recommend that you switch to a password-free login method. This offers you increased security and you no longer have to remember passwords.

A passkey is a modern, secure and password-free way of signing in for online services. It uses cryptographic pairs of keys that are exchanged between the user’s device and the service to uniquely verify the user’s identity.

The greatest advantage of passkeys is their user friendliness: set it up once and you can sign in easily using facial recognition (Face ID), your fingerprint or the device code – no need to remember a password.

Passkeys offer greater security than conventional passwords for several reasons:

• Protection against phishing: since you do not need to enter any passwords, you are protected against the theft of your data by fake websites or phishing e-mails.
• No reuse of passwords: passkeys are created individually for each service, removing the risk of password reuse.
• Linked to the device: the passkey remains securely stored on your device. Attackers would need physical access to your device to compromise your account.

1. Start by setting up passkeys on your smartphone.
2. Update your device: make sure your device supports the latest software version that allows passkeys.
3. How to activate passkeys: sign in to your SwissPass account and go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Login and security’. There you will find the option to activate passkeys. Please only use this option on your personal devices.
4. Set-up: follow the instructions for setting up passkeys. 
5. Usage: for future logins, select the ‘Sign in with passkey’ option and confirm the login on your device using biometric authentication (e.g. fingerprint or facial recognition) or a PIN.
6. As soon as the set-up is complete on your smartphone, you can continue with the set-up on your desktop, if you would also like access to swisspass.ch there. 
7. To do this, go to the login screen at swisspass.ch, click on ‘Cancel’ and sign in using the one-time code.
8. Under ‘Settings’ > ‘Login and security’ > Passkeys, you can set up another passkey for your desktop.

With this login option, you sign in using a login code. This is valid once and just for a few minutes. 

1. Log in with a password or one-time code. 
2. Navigate to ‘Settings’ and open ‘Change login method’.
3. Click on ‘Change’ and select ‘One-time code by e-mail’.
4. Enter and verify your recovery e-mail address.

For future logins, the login code will be sent to you directly by e-mail after you have entered your login e-mail address. Instead of the password, you will immediately be asked for the login code.

With this login option, you sign in using a one-time code instead of your password. This is valid once and just for a few minutes. 

1. Go to swisspass.ch and click on ‘Sign in’.
2. Enter your login e-mail address, select ‘Continue’.
3. Select ‘Sign in with one-time code’.
4. Enter the code sent to you by e-mail.
5. If you have activated two-step login (2FA) for signing in (recommended by SwissPass), also enter the code sent to you by SMS text message. 
6. You are now logged in.
