  1-Month GA Travelcard for Internship

  Dear SBB Team, My name is Berfin. I am 23 years old and I will be doing a 3-month internship at EPFL University. I would like to purchase the 1-month GA Travelcard for young people (under 25) to use during my stay in Switzerland. Could you please let me know: Is it possible to purchase this travelcard directly at an SBB office?
  If so, would it be enough to bring a passport photo and my ID? Thank you in advance for your help! Best regards,

  Friends Day Pass for Youth

  I recently purchased this day pass for my three children. While it appears to be valid on cable cars (according to the SBB website), they were refused access from Verbier Telecabine to Le Chable. The man at the turnstile (apparently the car operator, not a ticket agent) told us that each passenger needs their own QR code. This pass, however, has one QR code for all passengers. They tried scanning the QR a second time for the second youth, but the turnstile did not open. We want to buy this pass again but are concerned about being denied access at a cable car entry. Any thoughts?

  Hello gsbLink opens in new window. Welcome to the SBB Community. The FDP for Youth indeed consists of one QR code only, valid for all group members. The code holds the information about the person having purchased the pass. It is sufficient to show this single code. In addition, each member must have their physical ID card or SwissPass card with them. For cable cars and gondolas where one has to pass a turnstile, normally, FDP for Youth users must go to the ticket window in order to validate the ticket and ‘exchange’ it for free ride tickets. This is the same for Junior Card holders, for example. The same code cannot be used multiple times. Please address the feedback directly to the cable car operator so they can train their staff accordingly. Kind regards,

  1 month GA travel card

  Hi,
  I will be arriving at Zurich Airport at 7:30 PM on 15th June 2025 with my wife, my mother, and my 7-year-old daughter. None of us currently have SwissPass accounts.
  I would like to purchase a 1-month GA travel card for all of us, with validity starting from 15th June 2025.
  Could you please confirm if it is possible to purchase the GA travel card on 16th June with the validity backdated to 15th June? If so:
  Would it be possible to get a full refund for the individual tickets purchased for travel on 15th June?
  I would also like to buy a Junior Travel Card for my daughter. If I purchase a day pass for her on 15th June, would it be refundable if I later buy the Junior Travel Card starting from 15th June?

  Hello Ghueyoilouk66Link opens in new window. Welcome to the SBB Commnunity. GA 1-month travel cards are destined for residents having a Swiss Pass card. Tourists can purchase it as well, but the card will be a paper ticket; no SwissPass card is needed. An SBB account is helpful to purchase tickets online, though. But: why would you want purchasing the GA travel card on the 16th only, while you arrive at the 15th and the SBB ticket desk is open until 9.00 PM (21.00)? This does not sound reasonable to me. To answer your question: YES, it is possible to refund tickets for the 15th and have the GA travel card’s first date of validity back dated to the 15th under the sole condition that your ticket for the 15th bears your name. Unpersonal tickets from the machine are not accepted for refund unless the use was previously confirmed by the train personnel by a special attestation. Kind regards,
