Regio double-decker (RABe 511).

The 69 regional double-deck trains (RABe 511) are mainly deployed on Zurich S-Bahn routes and Wettingen–Olten–Lucerne regional express trains. These services require high-capacity vehicles with fast acceleration.

The six-coach double-deck trains have bright, air-conditioned interiors with a clear layout. They seat 120 passengers in first class and 415 in second. Boarding and alighting is fast and convenient thanks to the broad, low-level doors.

Up until 2035, the trains will be undergoing measures to extend their service life, with all receiving the same layout in ZVV blue.
