IC2000.

The modernised IC2000 long-distance double-deck trains run as InterCity and InterRegio services in Switzerland and connect some of the most important national hubs. Along with our LD double-deckers, the high-capacity IC2000 fleet will remain a key component of the SBB long-distance fleet.

Thanks to its high capacity of over 900 seats per train and its generous interiors, the IC2000 is ideal for heavily frequented routes. This IC train features family compartments and quiet zones as well as cycle and pram storage spaces. All 341 double-deck coaches were modernised between the end of 2019 and summer 2025. The trains now make a thoroughly modern impression with full air-conditioning, 2:1 seating in 1st class coaches, sockets in 1st and 2nd class, and low-floor entry. All InterCity trains also feature either a dining car or bistro.
