Giruno.
Giruno Gotthard passenger trains run on the north-south axis between Switzerland, Germany and Italy. As of the end of 2025, these 41 trains will provide the mainstay of SBB's international passenger services.
The Giruno has been especially designed for deployment in international passenger services. Running at a top speed of up to 250km/h, it provides a quick, convenient connection on the north-south axis. The train boasts large luggage stowage spaces and a generous, bright interior. It features low-floor entry for the different platform heights in Switzerland, Austria and Italy (55cm) as well as for Germany (76cm). This allows wheelchair users to travel unassisted – including access to the dining car.
