You can park at one of over 600 P+Rail stations. An overview of available locations can be found at sbb.ch/en/parking .

Why have I received a payment request for outstanding parking penalty?

A payment request for outstanding parking penalty is issued for the following reasons: Parking fee not paid or not paid correctly (e.g. wrong time, wrong registration number) Parked in reserved parking space Parked outside the parking area Two parking spaces occupied Parking time exceeded

Am I guaranteed a free parking space?

No, there is no guarantee that a free parking space will be available, even if you have a one-month or one-year permit or purchased the parking ticket in advance.

Can I submit several registration numbers for a one-month or one-year permit (for my second car, for example)?

You can enter two different registration numbers on your P+Rail Pass – so for example, one for your second car. You cannot change the car number(s) while the permit is valid. If you need to change your number, we offer an exchange (pro rata refund and new purchase).

The app doesn’t work, won’t open or constantly crashes.

Uninstall the app and download it again. All versions older than V2.8.0 will no longer be supported as of 16 April 2021. You can view the version of your app in the bottom left-hand corner of the side menu (in the P+Rail App).

The purchase button is grey and I cannot complete the purchase.

Please select a number plate and a payment method.

A newly entered number plate is not stored.

Immediately after entering the number plate, click on the Enter/Return button on your keyboard and do NOT click on the back arrow in the top left-hand corner.

Payment is not working.

If the payment process cannot be completed, there is often an error with the payment provider. Delete the payment method in the ‘Edit payment method’ side menu (in the P+Rail App) and then add it again.

Where can I download the SBB P+Rail app?

Is the P+Rail app free?

Yes. The app is available for iOS and Android and can be downloaded free of charge via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

Where can I pay with the P+Rail app?

At all P+Rail locations across Switzerland. You can purchase parking tickets for over 590 P+Rail facilities in the app. The P+Rail facilities of the following transport companies are currently integrated: SBB, BLS, RBS, Zentralbahn and OeBB.

Is my data secure on the SBB P+Rail app?

Yes. SBB attaches great importance to the protection your privacy. SBB ensures compliance with the legal data protection provisions in accordance with the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). More information on data protection can be found in our General Terms and Conditions.

How does the parking inspector know that I have purchased a parking ticket via the P+Rail app?

The on-site inspector has a mobile solution to verify valid parking tickets by checking the number plate.

What payment methods can I use?

You can pay for your parking tickets with Mastercard, Visa, American Express, PostFinance Card, Reka, Diners Club, Twint and Apple Pay.

How far in advance can I buy a parking ticket?

P+Rail tickets can generally be purchased up to seven days in advance.

Can I store several number plates?

Yes. You can enter several number plates in the side menu under ‘Edit registration plate number’ (in the P+Rail App).

Can I purchase another parking ticket for the same period even if I already have an active ticket for a different number plate?

Yes. You can purchase or have several parking tickets active simultaneously at the same or a different location. All purchased P+Rail tickets can be viewed in the P+Rail App on the homescreen while they are valid and additionally in the side menu under ‘My car park tickets’ afterwards.

Can I extend my parking ticket?

Yes. You can extend current P+Rail tickets at any time up to a maximum of seven days of validity.

Can I also purchase a P+Rail Annual or Monthly Pass via the app?

No. P+Rail Annual and Monthly Passes cannot currently be purchased via the app.

How far in advance can I purchase P+Rail tickets using the app?

P+Rail tickets can generally be purchased up to seven days in advance.

P+Rail service offer.

We offer tickets for hourly parking, P+Rail Day Passes and P+Rail Monthly and Annual Passes. A reservable parking space service is also available at 31 P+Rail locations. Purchasing options vary depending on the offer and the location.

Most SBB P+Rail car parks are inspected by our subsidiary Transsicura.

To pay the parking penalty, scan the QR code on the payment request for outstanding parking penalty form. You will be taken directly to the payment page, where you can pay the CHF 50 penalty. Alternatively, you can also enter the number found on the payment request for outstanding parking penalty form at sbb.ch/en/gnf and pay the CHF 50 using one of the following payment methods: Mastercard, Visa, PostFinance, Amex, Reka, Diners or Twint.

Yes. At some locations, you can reserve a parking space in advance and secure a parking spot early. The usual parking fee must be paid in addition to the reservation. This can be done when you make a reservation or via the usual sales channels.

P+Rail one-month or one-year permits can only be purchased if you hold a GA Travelcard or a monthly or annual public transport travelcard valid at the station in question (Point-to-Point Travelcard, Regional Travelcard, Modular Travelcard).

Depending on how busy the facility is, a minimum price or minimum distance can also be defined for this.

In order to avoid exceeding capacity, there may be waiting lists or other restrictions for P+Rail facilities with high demand (for example, a quota system, stopping sales during construction work, etc.). Please contact us promptly regarding the availability of one-month or one-year permits for your desired station. Likewise, the same applies if you would like to renew your permit.

One-month and one-year permits can be purchased up to two months in advance of the first day of validity. This is advantageous, especially for P+Rail facilities with high demand.

P+Rail stands for ‘Park and Rail’.

P+Rail facilities – also sometimes called P+Ride – refer to car parks located directly at railway stations. The name was chosen because these parking facilities are predominantly used by rail customers who park their private motor vehicles and then travel by train. The P+Rail app was named after this original area of application.

Yes. You have to log in to the app using a SwissPass login. If you already have a SwissPass login (e.g. for SBB Mobile or the SBB.ch webshop), you can use it to log in directly. Your stored details and payment method will then be conveniently transferred to the P+Rail app.

If you do not yet have a SwissPass login, you can obtain one free of charge in just a few clicks.

The P+Rail app uses the SwissPass login, the official public transport login.

As many of our customers already have this login, they benefit from the convenient transfer of their details and stored payment method. They also receive a personalised receipt which can be used for parking expense claims.

Yes. In the P+Rail app you just need a digital SwissPass login. This can be easily created in a few clicks by entering an e-mail address and some other required details. You don’t require a physical SwissPass card to create this kind of login.

Before purchasing.

This varies from location to location. You can select a location via the search field in the app and obtain information about the applicable tariff and maximum parking duration.

Before buying a parking ticket, the costs are calculated for you (at the selected location and for the applicable period). This means you will know the final costs before purchasing the ticket and so can avoid any unpleasant surprises.

During purchasing.

Yes. You receive a receipt sent to the e-mail address stored on your profile. You can find an overview of your valid and expired parking tickets under ‘My car park tickets’ in the side menu (in the P+Rail App).

The receipt for P+Rail tickets is sent to you directly after purchasing the ticket.

You can purchase a 7 days ticket through the SBB P+Rail app (if the location is available in the app) and re-purchase it after 7 days again on the app. It seems like you don’t have any other option regarding the busses on the way back, but I agree with @RolandPLink opens in new window. regarding the high costs. Maybe a taxi for the way back home is cheaper than booking for more than 7 days or maybe someone you know could pick you up at the train station with a car. Is the Park&Rail suspended along with the GA pass?

I have a GeneralAbonnement pass, and I recently bought a Park&Rail with one year validity. I currently suspended my GA because I’m temporarily in home office. Is the Park&Rail still valid? Or is it suspended along with the GA?

Is there parking lot at Zweilütschinen Sation?

I wish to take the train from Zweilütschinen via Wengen to Jungfraujoch and coming back through Grindelwald, so I would need to park my car at Zweilütschinen Station. Is there parking provided there and how much is it? I was checking on the website but couldn’t find the information. Please advise, thank you!
